Beginners • Could I get some help with Samba please?

I am not sure which part of the things I have done is not right.
I have played a bit, but never really done anything LAN.

I have a Pi 4 with Libreelec on it.
I now have a Pi 5 that I am using as a Desktop.
What I wanted to do was to add a drive to my LE Pi as it is always on and then I can access files and music from other devices.

As I understand it, LE makes files shared automatically.
This appears to be the case when i look in via my phone, my two Volumio Pis, my laptop and big PC with Mint Cinnamon on.
I am just able to access them immediately. No setting up or anything.

I had changed the desktop environment on my Pi5, and generally fiddled about, so when it wouldn't work, I assumed it was me. (I still do)
I realised that I had put KDE Plasma on top of full RaspiOS and so redid it on Lite. It is all working much better and could instantly access the files on the LE SSD. I didn't have to do anything at all, it was just there in File Manager>Network>Samba

Today, I shutdown my LE Pi for another reason, but when I started it up, I can no longer see my LE Pi.
I have tried rebooting both, but it is still the same.

I have looked up and found all sorts of different things suggested, but am wary of making things worse.
Do I need to do something to set it up?
Is there a guide or something please?

Thank you.

Edit:
I installed samba with:

Code:

sudo apt-get install samba-common smbclient samba-common-bin smbclient cifs-utils
