I have a Raspberry Pi 4 with a WD Passport USB hard drive attached and I’m using it as a simple file server in my home network. I have a VU+ Ultimo box downstairs which I use to access the files on the WD drive. I’ve got a weird issue where suddenly I am unable to access the files on the drive. It sees the Pi share but not the files inside. I do a network scan and the location is found I add it with the correct credentials and then the files should be accessible but they are not. I have done this procedure loads of times before and it has always worked but not any more and I haven’t done anything to the pi for it to stop working. So last night I did apt update and upgrade, it took around 25 minutes and I hoped the drive would be accessible afterwards but it’s not. I also have an app called File Browser pro on my iPad which I use to view the files and that is now saying ‘failed to load folder contents access denied’. Now the weird thing is I have a windows PC wired to my network and a windows laptop which is wireless and I can see the files no problem from both of them. I have no idea what is going on, can anyone help? Thanks
