Pi 5 has a built-in power button that works exactly the same way as on any regular Android device (short press to switch display off/on, long press to invoke power menu). This is amazing. Running very well on a raspberry pi 5 that I'm using as a wall mounted calendar. Thank you for all your work, this is exactly what I was looking for
One question, probably stupid, but is there a way to turn the display off from within Android? I'd like to have the display shut off every night at specified times.
Thanks for your help.
You can set screen timeout by disabling Settings -> System -> Developer options -> Stay awake and adjusting Settings -> Display -> Screen timeout.
There are various third party task scheduling apps available (Tasker, Automate, MacroDroid, etc) you can look into if you want somehow schedule this according to time of day.
