Troubleshooting • RPI3B+ and trixie unable to connect to wifi

Hi all,

I'd basically need help in order to connect my rpi3b+ to wifi. I never thought it would be that difficult ...
The network I'm trying to connect is 802.11n so should be compatible.
The key of the network is NOT 12345 and is rather longer (63 random chars, works ok with all devices including this 2012 macbook I'm posting with :))

I've flashed Raspbian with the latest imager and the 64 bits vanilla image + set up wifi and account in there. Account works but no wifi.

I've tried, after updating the OS to latest packages, the following:
- sudo raspi-config which tells me the SSID doesn't exist. It does, as I'm sure of the SSID/key
- looking for params in /boot/firmware/ but all I find is neverending scripts and hardly some SSID/KEY param I can manually update
- nmcli connection add type wifi con-name "MyWiFi" ifname wlan0 ssid "MySSIS" password "PASSWD" which also tells me the SSID doesn't exist

nmcli connection show and ifconfig -a show me the wlan0 interface is indeed present so HW should be ok, but I'm at a loss on why I can't seem to connect ....

Any help greatly appreciated.
