ah ok. Not relevant then.

So what accuracy is your aim ?
Two other possibilities - why not use a 16bit DAC ? Or a PDM modulator and a sharp filter which will give at least 18bits ?
Mike, I would like to resolve 1 nm steps with the piezo which is right around single steps at 12bit (if I use the full range of the piezo). There also will be creep, thermal drift etc which I have a plan (I think) how to deal with, but at least I want the DAC not to be the limiting factor. I can use a higher-bit DAC, but this is my first attempt at this, the price of the DAC is right (previously I only used DACs from NI which were "plug and play"). There is also an evaluation board for the MCP4725 which has pads for additional capacitors, so I could use that in case I need to filter the noise.
