I read this as that the product is RaspberryPi. Or maybe micro-SD-card. Something you can send back to where you bought it and get your money back if it does not work as specified.A lot of users/customers care actually...Raspberry Pi imager is supposed to let you do this as part of the image writing process. The problem is that it's broken and no-one seems to care.
But if "no-one" does not include those who pay for the product then you're right.
Given the product in question is Imager and that no-one pays for it...
More seriously, we're in the Christmas/New Year period. I'd expect most, if not all, of the RPL developers to be on leave until 2026-01-02 or, given that's a Friday, 2026-01-05
That Imager is open-source, I am sure it costs RPL money to get that developed and put it on Microsoft github infrastructure. But that is their problem.
Or is cloud-init the product. Or the rpi packages that tweak Debian base. Or Debian itself. Or the rpi-kernel. Or raspi-firmware. Or maybe some cooling fan.
RPL can decide to release major new SW version release when they are all instantly ready to fix bugs and help resolve problems, so 1st workweek in new year for example. Xmas and new year has been already 2000 years on the same days, so maybe planning? They sure managed to have the plan to have holidays. I simply see a pattern.
Other option is to shutdown the forum as well during holidays. So sorry then for the consumers/individuals who finally can enjoy their new
RaspberryPi they found under the Xmas tree after a long year of hard work.
Or should people not buy a computer with 2 microHDMI connectors while they plan to not use them. Or maybe 2x microHDMI should never been done, simply 1 full-size. The Pi4 internal AXI bandwitdh is anyhow already too low to use it in a way normal for other computers.
