The conversion was to buy a little adapter board from Waveshare that would present the connector sockets on a Pi4 in the same place as a Pi3. It requires a little bit of cutting to accommodate the heat sink. There is very little technical work required. Less technical than using GPIO with C++ and wiringPi for anything.you should read again ...update,
I just read that there are muliple GPIO control software issues concerning Pi5 - so I would prefer a Notebook based on Pi4 over a Pi5 (I am only using C/C++ by wiringPi, apt or possibly github community version).
If you want a Pi4 based notebook you can try to get hands on a Pitop 3 and modify that to accept a CM4

Unfortunately, I am not capable of such a conversion; it exceeds my technical abilities, so I need something Factory-ready to purchase and use
I notice a few of these already converted are on the used market.
