Raspberry Pi OS • Re: Corrupt /var/lib/dpkg/status on a new install

I wonder if the corruption can be caught after the image has been written but before it's ever booted in a Pi - assuming the resize doesn't shift existing files.
In a thread about the lite image, we have a report that the filesystem looked correct before the resize. viewtopic.php?t=391594
I see in /usr/lib/raspberrypi-sys-mods/firstboot that reboot is done. That is RPiOS Bookworm, other methods/OS/images might do no reboot and stay online. At least that is what I do myself (manually)
Such a reboot means also re-init of SD-card, the whole storage stack. I am not sure if every SD-card etc can handle this correctly under al sorts of circumstances. A write, does not matter what that much, means possible wear-leveling as well, so a block or part of a file can be moved internally. If power and state is kept, should be fine I think, but a reboot and re-init of kernel etc might have corner cases where it could go wrong maybe.
