Given the 'right' (wrong!) circumstances anyone can try and get access to your computer over the internet.
There are automated scanners that roam IP address spaces and automatically test for unprotected protocols and ports, in order to detect hosts that can be taken over. It's a matter of seconds and minutes for a host directly connected to the internet to be scanned.
Disconnect this machine and reinstall the OS from scratch.
Then make sure no service is opened before exposing the machine to the Internet again. The best would be to install a router device and install the Pi behind it. The router will protect the Raspberry Pi.
