sounds like the wacom is a mouse only...Thanks for pointing me at a direction, that explanation & link makes sense. I'll try switching to X11 or try a different compositor, have to see whats easier to achieve, so far I've just been using the PI OS defaults and have not much experience switching out the underlying infrastructure, but at least it gives me some direction to look for so it'll probably get something done.

Unfortunately the wacom pen is not considered touch input and apparently doesn't appear in the menu you mention. I had tried a different screen earlier which had touch capability, that one did appear and was selectable, so I know what menu you are talking about.
