Ok, tried Bullseye stable 64 bit, minimal. followed to the letter the script. ttymidi bullseye installed with no errors.
I installed synaptic to check if Jack was present (Midisnoop gives me two midi options, alsa and jack by default)
So to completely remove jack I have to uninstall libjack that break a looooot of stuff.... I did it once and then I got
locked out of the system. Something wrong happened. I didn't install it, so it was built in.
Apart jack everything else seems to be fine, except I have two ttymidi instances with both in and out.

Serialo>ttyAMA0
Serial1>ttyso
clock uart = 48001464
I tested the script, it run first in debug mode and the I run it, with the out connected to the SQ64 in rec mode, midi in, ch1.... Zero
Same in reverse, SQ64 Midi out to ttymidi in... zero...
Older Os I haven't been too lucky, I'm also short of sd's...
So... point blanck...
Linus Torvald is very occupied with Midi 2.0 requests seems atm.
Him and the Alsa team are somewhat overwhelmed of small issues...
maybe an out of tree solution... idk...
