I am looking to deploy a headless Rpi into the field where it will be attached to a cellular modem for remote access. However should the modem fail and I need to access it from my laptop I will need a way to access it.
I see two obvious solutions:
1. Serial cable - would work but what a pain - I would need to open any enclosure and carry the cable.
2. Enable the Rpi wifi to be a AP instead of a client - this is ok I guess but also like having the Rpi setup as a client for my home lab should I bring it home again.
3. Add a cheap USB wifi adapter and have one in client mode one in AP mode? (fixing the drawback of option 2)
Are there any other options?
