W.r.t. "Drives are supplied with the storage medium full of zeroes": if other drives are also supplied in that state would that be consistent with the "contents unknown" report of the Gdisk utility (see https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_p ... es_NVMeM.2 onwards) and the "absence" of a partition table (and something I don't recall happening with 70mm SATA SSD's )Because a small subset of the drives are Samsung drives. They were a limited run at the start of availability.Would like to hear an official RPT comment why these BiWin NVME's were using Samsung firmware.
looks like I will have to spend some 35bucks on one of them to see myself.
