From a user's perspective, I would like the 8 Gb option as well. I am not doubting the experience and efficacy of business - oriented options in achieving minimum production cost. Regarding the 500 and the current user base there is always the initial choice of going after minimum partial cost and not overall cost. Instead of the 600 unit, might there be a 600 kit, dare I say? Comprised of a keyboard case that would fit a standard CM6 IO board and ANY combination of CM6 or even CM5 and M2 a user may choose to fit?
And the same IO board could be used for industrial uses as well.
How's that for a choice in streamlining production?
Sure, overall cost for a unit would increase, but I bet it would be counterbalanced by the flexibility in options
