Hi, in times where the 32bit standard is dying out, why is there still no 64bit version of the Raspberry Pi Desktop for PC & Mac? I would like to run Raspberry OS on my notebook, but the 32bit version scares me off. Are there any discussions, at least from the Pi Foundation, about whether a 64bit version is coming soon?
That seems unlikely. I don't think the Raspberry Pi Foundation will have any direct interest in the development and support of Operating Systems. Are there any discussions, at least from the Pi Foundation
If you were content to take advice from Raspberry Pi Ltd, then there are many prior discussions which tend to conclude with an RP Ltd spokesperson/engineer/developer saying: "That would be nice, but it is not a priority, we need to support the OS that runs uniquely on our own (arm-based) hardware."
That seems to be the correct use of resources to me.
I don't speak for any part of Raspberry Pi but 'coming soon' does not sound likely.

To be pedantic, in case it influences your planning. The OS distribution being discussed here does NOT allow you to run the The Raspberry Pi Operating System ('RasPiOS') on your 'wintel' laptop.
RasPiOS only runs on arm-based Raspberry Pi hardware.
"Raspberry Pi Desktop for PC and Mac" is a pretty standard installation of the Debian linux OS for 'wintel hardware, with the cosmetic addition of the distinctive Raspberry Pi Desktop GUI.
