Thanks for the reply. F8 does indeed bring up a menu but it is the same on you get "PC side", if that make sense. Will I need to use a different viewer in that case? I currently use VNC Connect from RealVNC.

The default VNC server for Wayland (WayVNC) does not support taskbar icon, file transfer etc.
If you want to use RealVNC server as before, then you can switch back to X11.
sudo raspi-config (Advanced Menu)
