As I recall there are statements on the Raspberry Pi website regarding how long hardware may be in production. Is there something similar with respect to support for Raspberry Pi OS? As a point of comparison, Linux Mint claims v. 22 will be supported until 2029.
The reason I ask: my various Pi computers are now next-in-line should my main desktop die (and it's 14 years old, so it could happen any time!), and after some difficulty installing Linux on a new Win11 machine (not dual-boot, complete changeover), I'm seriously considering moving to Pi 5 as my primary computer, figuring the hardware won't throw up similar roadblocks.
It would be nice to have some confidence it'll be supported at least as long as the hardware is in production, if not more. Thanks, and sorry if I missed it being mentioned elsewhere. I did a cursory search but didn't find anything.
