I don't know why someone should overclock the RPi5. Why do you guys need it?

Because we can?
Things need to be broken to see how far they bend.
i seem to have memory of the Pi4 freq locked until it was enable later with a bootcode mod?
Or is that my imagination or early onset?

Anyway a 2.4GHz to 3GHz is not a bad overclock, just the Pi4 was 1.8GHz to about 2.7/2.8GHz.
Pushing Silicon above 3GHz is not easy.
I can remember when they said WiFi cannot be done with Silicon, it won't work above 1GHz.
That was decades ago so easier to remember

For future Pi6/7 more performance won't be via clock, more cores?
