I just last week put together a Rpi 5 using the 32G sd card with the OS installed (fron PiShop.us, if that's relevant). I recall having to do something under root, but I don't remember what. I do remember during the installation procedure that the system asked for a root password, and I responded with an EOL, which it accepted.
Now I have some updates to install, but the system asks for a root password. I tried EOL, which it didn't accept, then, fishing around, "root", "pi", and some other silly things I pulled out of the air.
So now I have to embarrass myself and ask for help. I searched for a solution in this forum, but apparently no one else has been so silly. Help?
