I had to reload the OS on RPi 4b and kept running into all kinds of problems. 64 & 32 bit versions were disappointing.
Something as straight forward as the File Manager would ask me if I wanted to execute in the terminal , etc. When I choose execute, It would put half page off screen and freeze. Reboot necessary.
I finally stumbled across Legacy Debian 11 bullseye with recommended software (32 bit) dated 3/12/24 on the raspberry site. It has the red sunset screen. I loaded the SD card using RPi imager by choosing my download from my downloads folder.
2 days of frustration solved.
