A forum search for the SIM7600 will find numerous threads discussing the "fun" had by people trying to get it working.
Personally I've had good results with a ZTE MF823 USB 4G network adapter. It just shows up as an extra network interface on the Pi, and runs basic NAT if you need to administer the network functions. I ran it off a Pi for a while without issues, although I do now use it via a Draytek 2860 router.
